It is a very old song. All I remember is my mother playing it. I don't remember very much from my childhood but she was always playing music loud and dancing. I tried to find the remake but am not able to.
A thing maybe true, but to what extent ? Dion Fortune said that some treasures are only treasure when viewed in the moonlight, but if examined in the cold light of day are nothing more than dried leaves. Why does this haunt me tonight ? Reality is fluid, but the human side needs stability. Why am I writing this crap tonight ?
6am - Finally the penny has dropped. We are not our minds. The mind separate to the soul. This is problematic as the mind is so dominant 99% of the time, and if unsettled or challenged throws a hissy fit that will floor you so badly you will loose all sight of the fact that another you is hiding somewhere. We might call this the subconscious, and even this can reek havoc with the body. I think there is more though beyond the subconscious, a concrete other you bursting to get out, painfully and forcibly.
So this song was playing today in a cafe. So many memories. Strange, and I should have known I would be frequenting said property before the day was out, even if it was only through trick n treating. The lyrics capture a woman's ability to do a sudden deviation from what a man believes is so. The singer knows despite his current reverie he's doomed. Its just a brief season. That cycle moon is so me.
I remember my mother playing this song when I was a wee child in Anaheim, California.
ReplyDeleteI think the version I heard back then was a cover one as I remember a coloured band dancing around.
