No change here

 The winter nights dont change here. They feel just the same as in my childhood. Dark, damp and brooding. Summer has changed so much, but why hasnt the atmosphere of winter nights ? Its a direct replica of the past. Its about the only thing that hasnt changed in this valley. I bet they havent changed here in hundreds of years, but who really knows, eh ?

    There is a surreal quality nowadays that is different than last year. I was disappointed yesterday to see so many people still wearing the stupid masks. As usual, I often see men not wearing theirs or pulling them down. It's mostly women who enjoy wearing them.

      Women on their own mostly. Wealthier the area the more masks. Visiting a certain sea side town as lock down was easing was so uplifting. No one was social distancing, children were playing and riding bikes. People were laughing and buying food from street vendors without having to phone book in advance. Got home to this village and you'd think there was an apocalypse...lol

So this song was playing today in a cafe. So many memories. Strange, and I should have known I would be frequenting said property before the day was out, even if it was only through trick n treating.  The lyrics capture a woman's ability to do a sudden deviation from what a man believes is so. The singer knows despite his current reverie he's doomed. Its just a brief season.  That cycle moon is so me.

Little Miss Ambiguity

  The dreams have started again, as they did this time last year. Last year she was a young short woman with dark hair who would stand very close to me. I could tell she had a great affection for me. I joked she was going to get frisky on last years blog. Last night she returned or rather a counter part of her did, but this time she had blond hair, tied back.  I found myself arguing with her in a garden she accused me of damaging. The flowers were quite robust and of the sun flower type or style. Suddenly in the midst of the argument she leans forward and kisses me on the lips instantly, and then carries on the argument with the same intensity as before. I then attempt to kiss her and she resists, all the while still scolding me until after a few attempts she yields. Heres hoping to seeing her again some night...

Ulalume  And now, as the night was senescent And star-dials pointed to morn— As the star-dials hinted of morn— At the end of our path a liquescent And nebulous lustre was born, Out of which a miraculous crescent Arose with a duplicate horn— Astarte's bediamonded crescent Distinct with its duplicate horn.
